The Greater Baltimore Chapter of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame will hold its 31st Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Martin's West.
Ninety football players from 89 schools were nominated for this year's award. The schools were divided into five regions, and one winner will be selected from each.
A grand prize winner then will be picked from those five. The grand prize is $4,000; the regional winners will win $1,500. W. Eric Howard from North County won last year.
Long-time Carver coach Lloyd White will receive an award, as will Towson State coach Gordy Combs and Buzz Battaglia (for service to youth football). Poly, ranked first in this year's poll, gets the A. Paul Menton Trophy. University of Maryland coach Mark Duffner will be the speaker.
