CFL Colts will be opening ticket office at stadium

The Baltimore CFL Colts will open a box office at Memorial Stadium Thursday morning at 9 to accommodate fans who have been unable to make season-ticket deposits with TicketMaster, team owner Jim Speros said yesterday.

TicketMaster phone lines (410 481-SEAT in Baltimore or 202 432-SEAT in Washington) have been tied up with requests for a Pink Floyd concert and Colts tickets, he said.

Speros said the first 200 people making deposits of $50 per seat tomorrow will receive Baltimore CFL Colts T-shirts.

Tickets will range from $9 per game for end-zone seats to $25 for premium seats and $28 for club seats on the mezzanine level. Tickets also will sell for $14, $16, $19 and $21 per game.

Speros also said:

* Members of the Gold List represent 20,000 seats, which leaves an estimated 10,000 premium seats available between the 30-yard lines. Approximately 80 percent of Gold List members have requested the premium $25 seats, which are in both the upper and lower decks. With a larger CFL field, there is a 55-yard line and two 50-yard lines.

* Gold List members have until Saturday to make nonrefundable deposits to keep their position. People holding lesser priority numbers will not be bumped by additional purchases, Speros said. "The extra tickets will be equivalent, or not quite as good," he said.

* Ticket allocations are expected to be announced in May.

* The team will hold a ColtFest at the stadium on March 26. It will raffle off T-shirts and footballs, and players will attend. Tickets will be available as well.
