Boston University -- Fired men's basketball coach Bob Brown (38-73 in four seasons).

Coe -- Announced the resignation of men's basketball coach Bob Landis (23-43 in three seasons).

DePaul -- Reinstated basketball players Tom Kleinschmidt and Belefia Parks.

Florida -- Named Ron Zook linebackers coach; Bob Pruett secondary coach; Charlie Strong assistant head coach and defensive tackles coach; Bob Sanders defensive line coordinator; Carl Franks inside linebackers coach; and Jim Collins tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator.

Freed-Hardeman -- Women's basketball coach Randy Brown resigned.

Lincoln Memorial -- Named Craig Rasmuson men's basketball coach.Maine -- Asked Penobscot County Superior Court for a TRO that would enable it to get its defending national championship team into the Hockey East tournament this week. The league barred the Black Bears because a player was academically ineligible for much of the season.

Marshall -- Named Billy Donovan men's basketball coach.

McNeese State -- Announced resignation of men's basketball coach Steve Welch (75-121 in seven seasons), effective April 30.

Morehead State -- Will eliminate 63 football scholarships by 1998.

New Mexico -- Extended the contract of men's basketball coach Dave Bliss (128-61 in six seasons) for four years through the 1998-99 season.

Redlands -- Named Bill Dobson assistant football coach.

St. Cloud State -- Named Lori Ulferts women's basketball coach.

Southern Methodist -- Named receivers coach Curtis Johnson.

Atlanta Falcons -- Agreed to terms with DE Lester Archambeau and LB Tim Paulk. Signed CB D. J. Johnson, CB Lawrence Hatch and RB Tim Lowery.

Detroit Lions -- Announced the resignation of defensive coordinator Henry Bullough so he can take an assistant's job with Michigan State. Named Herb Paterra defensive coordinator.

Los Angeles Rams -- Signed QB Chris Miller, an unrestricted free agent.

New Orleans Saints -- Took back offers to RB Fred McAfee, TE Tommie Stowers and OL Tom Backes, making all three unrestricted free agents.

New York Jets -- Announced that S Ronnie Lott agreed to have his contract restructured to give the club extra room under the salary cap.

Phoenix Cardinals -- Signed free-agent LB Randy Kirk for one year.

Ottawa Rough Riders (CFL) -- Signed G Brad Tierney for one year.
