State Teams' Ncaa Possibilities

The state teams that remain in the running for a berth in the NCAA Division I basketball tournaments:


* Coppin State: Probably needs to win Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament, which begins this week, to get in. Eagles are the top seed.

Loyola: Gets automatic bid if it beats Manhattan in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament final tonight.

Maryland: Expected to receive an at-large bid even if it loses to Virginia in first round of ACC tournament on Friday.

* Morgan State, UMES: Need to win MEAC tournament.

Navy: Gets automatic bid if it beats Colgate on Friday in Annapolis in Patriot League championship.


* Coppin State, Morgan State, UMES: Need to win MEAC tournament.

* Loyola: In. The Greyhounds won the MAAC title and automatic bid.

* Maryland: Is expected to receive an at-large bid.

Mount St. Mary's: Is top seed for this week's Northeast Conference tournament, whose winner gets an automatic bid.

Towson State, UMBC: Need to win Big South tournament this week.
