Man forces his way into motorist's car

March 07, 1994

A restaurant worker was forced to drive around northern Anne Arundel County for about an hour late Friday and early Saturday by a man who pushed his way into her car, police said.

County police said the man got into the 38-year-old woman's car when she stopped on Route 648 near Furnace Branch Road to run an errand just before midnight Friday.

The man told the woman he had a gun, police said, although one wasn't evident. After about an hour, police said, the woman stopped the car on Interstate 97 near Old Mill Road.

When she began screaming, kicking and hitting the man, he fled, police said.

The assailant was described as a tall, thin white man in his 20s with stringy hair and a dirty appearance.
