March 04, 1994|By Katherine Dunn

For the second straight day, bad weather closed Howard County schools yesterday and forced changes in the state's regional basketball playoff schedule.

All of yesterday's semifinals have been shifted to today, most at the same times. Both boys and girls championships will be played tomorrow.

Any regional finals that could involve Howard County boys teams will tip off at 7 tomorrow night with the girls finals earlier in the day.

Tonight, Mount Hebron and Glenelg will play host to double-headers with the girls games preceding the boys.

At Mount Hebron, the No. 6-ranked girls play Howard at 5:30 p.m. in a Class 3A East semifinal. At 7:30 p.m., the No. 15 boys play Poly.

The girls title game is 4 p.m. tomorrow at the higher seed.

Tonight at Glenelg, the Class 2A South semifinals feature the No. 18 Gladiator girls against Potomac at 5:15, followed by the boys against Surrattsville at 7.

In the other Class 2A South girls game, No. 1 Hammond plays host to Fairmont Heights at 7 p.m. The girls title game will be tomorrow at 5 p.m. at the higher seed.

In the other boys 2A South semifinal, No. 18 Atholton plays host to Potomac at 7 tonight.

The Class 1A South region has the Wilde Lake girls on the road to Catoctin in Frederick County for a 6 p.m. game tonight, while the Wildecats boys play host to Forestville at 7 p.m.

The girls title game is set for tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the higher seed.
