Storm shuffles playoff schedules

March 03, 1994|By Lem Satterfield

Baltimore County school closings because of the snowstorm forced yesterday's girls basketball playoff games to be rescheduled for today at the same times and locations.

Baltimore City schools were open yesterday, but the girls playoff games involving city teams were canceled anyway and will be played today at times different from the original schedule.

In Class 3A East, fourth seed Carver will travel to top seed Poly fora 4 p.m. game.

In Class 4A North, top seed Western will play host to fifth seed Walbrook at 5 p.m., and sixth seed Patterson will travel to second seed Lake Clifton for a 3:30 p.m. game.

With two exceptions, all boys games slated for tonight will go on as originally scheduled.

In the Class 3A North region, there will be a doubleheader at Randallstown, with the top-seeded Rams' girls team playing No. 5 seed Patapsco at 5 followed by the Rams' top-seeded boys team against fourth seed Franklin at 7.

The boys Class 4A North regionals at UMBC have been moved to tomorrow with third seed Southwestern meeting No. 2 seed Woodlawn at 6 p.m., and fifth seed Lake Clifton battling top seed and No. 1-ranked Southern-Baltimore at 8.
