Six people, one a 16-year-old girl, were arrested Monday in two rooms at the Comfort Inn on Route 140 and charged with a variety of drug counts after a search-and-seizure raid by Westminster police.

Criminal Investigation Division officers obtained the warrants after a tip from a citizen, investigators said.

Marijuana, heroin and drug paraphernalia, with a street value of $500, were recovered in the raid, police said. The officers also confiscated more than $300 in cash, they reported.

Suspects arrested include Jennifer Lynn Dawson, 21, of the 100 block of Liberty St., Westminster; Charles D. Brightful Jr., 19, of the 100 block of S. Court St., Westminster; Jennifer Angel Schwartz, 18, of the 800 block of Springdale Road, New Windsor; Jason E. Shepard, 19, of the 4100 block of Francis Scott Key Highway, Taneytown; and Theodore F. Iser, 27, of the 4000 block of Littlestown Pike, Westminster.

All of the adults were charged with possession of heroin and possession of marijuana, and all but Mr. Iser also were charged with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Officers said Mr. Iser was arrested in a room on the first floor of the building. The others were arrested together in a room on the second floor.

The adults were all released on personal recognizance by a District Court commissioner.

Police filed charges against the 16-year-old in Juvenile Court.

The girl, who lives in Westminster, was released in her mother's custody.
