Spalding High names winners of scholarships

Archbishop Spalding High School recently announced the winners of its scholarship competition.

Full-tuition scholarships went to Anna Swartwood, who attends St. John the Evangelist School, and Stacey Conrad, a student at St. Rose of Lima School.

Half-tuition scholarships were awarded to Jason King, of St. Jane Frances School; Maria Piazzola, of Arthur Slade Regional School; Beth Pryor, of St. Pius X School; and David Sayre, of Arthur Slade Regional School.

Christopher Douglas of St. Mary's Elementary School was the first alternate.

Nicole Costa from Arthur Slade Regional School was awarded Spalding's music scholarship for 1994.

Christian Toraldo was the first alternate for the music scholarship, and Maria Piazzola was the second alternate. Both attend Arthur Slade, and will graduate in 1998.

Severn:Burglars broke into a home in the 500 block of Old Oak Road between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 p.m. Wednesday and took hand tools and power tools valued at $300.
