The Atlanta Magic won its second straight U.S. Interregional Soccer League championship yesterday with an 8-3 victory over the Chattanooga Express at Du Burns Arena.

Chris Hellenkamp and Dennis Jerkunica each scored twice, and tournament MVP Brian Moore added a goal and an assist.

Earlier yesterday, the Bays earned third place with a 2-1 win over the Tulsa Roughnecks in the 30-minute consolation game.

Bays forward Derrick Marcano scored the game-winner with 30.2 seconds left in regulation.

The Bays finish the indoor season 14-1. Their only loss came in the opening round of the championships on Friday, 8-6, to Chattanooga.

Bays defender Ed Quick was selected the USISL Rookie of the Year. Veteran Billy Ronson was honored for leading the league in assists during the regular season with 34. Ronson and Mark Mettrick, who scored a club-record eight goals in the Bays' win Saturday over Tulsa, were selected to the all-tournament team.
