Tuesday, Damon Cason scored 25 points in a 95-59 win over Mervo. In an 85-71 victory over Walbrook, Kevin Simpson scored 17. Next game: Thursday vs. No. 4 Lake Clifton or No. 20 Perry Hall in state 4A North Region semifinals at UMBC.

2 Dunbar (19-3, 190) -- Last week's ranking: 2. The Poets, ranked No. 17 by USA Today, clinched first in the Baltimore City 2A-3A League and the top seed in the state 2A East Region playoffs. Rodney Elliott scored 19 points in a 104-58 victory over Forest Park on Tuesday. Wednesday, Norman Nolan scored 25 points in a 66-57 victory over Poly. Next game: Thursday vs. Wicomico or South River in state 2A East Region semifinals at Chesapeake College.

3 Annapolis (19-2, 179) -- Last week's ranking: 3. With three victories, the Panthers clinched first in the Anne Arundel County 4A League. In an 88-74 victory over North County on Tuesday, Rodney Watts scored 22. Wednesday, Rodney Johnson had 20 in a 97-62 victory over Glen Burnie. Thirteen players scored in an 87-40 victory over Chesapeake-AA on Friday. Next game: Thursday vs. Northern-Garrett or No. 19 Arundel in state 4A East Region semifinals.

4 Lake Clifton (15-6, 170) -- Last week's ranking: 4. The Lakers got 23 points from Ronald Byrd and 22 from Shawnta Rogers in an 87-83 victory over Walbrook on Tuesday. Next game: Tomorrow at No. 20 Perry Hall in state 4A North Region quarterfinals.

5 ,3Woodlawn (20-1, 157) -- Last week's ranking: 5. Tuesday, 11 players scored in a 101-54 victory over Lansdowne. Keion Carpenter scored 25 points in a 126-50 victory over Patapsco on Friday. In a 78-28 victory over Eastern Tech, Carpenter scored 25. Next game: Thursday vs. Edmondson or No. 7 Southwestern in state 4A North Region semifinals at UMBC.

6 Milford Mill (19-0, 139) -- Last week's ranking: 6. The Millers became the area's only undefeated team during the regular season with three victories -- 58-55 over Overlea on Tuesday to clinch first in the Baltimore County 1A-2A League, 79-59 over Towson and 103-48 over Pikesville on Friday. Next game: Thursday vs. North East or Bohemia Manor in state 1A North Region semifinals.

7 Southwestern (16-4, 137) -- Last week's ranking: 7. In a home-and-home with Edmondson, the Sabers won 71-68 on Tuesday and 99-83 on Thursday. Reginald Johnson scored 19 in an 80-49 victory over Mervo. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Edmondson in state 4A North Region quarterfinals.

8 cf,bol,7,8Gibbons (25-6, 136) -- Last week's ranking: 8. The Crusaders advanced to the championship game of the Catholic League Tournament, defeating Curley, 87-47 on Friday, and Calvert Hall, 75-51 on Saturday. Last night, Gibbons topped St. Frances, 70-66. Next game: TBA.

9 Southern-AA (16-4, 122) -- Last week's ranking: 10. The Bulldogs clinched a tie for first in the Anne Arundel County 2A-3A League. In a 59-53 victory over Broadneck on Tuesday, Chatney Howard scored 20 points. Wednesday, Eddie Paddy scored 22 in an 86-67 victory over North County. Howard scored 22 in an 85-48 victory over Northeast. Next game: Tomorrow vs. Parkside in state 2A East Region quarterfinals.

10 Glen Burnie (18-3, 111) -- Last week's ranking: 9. Tuesday, Desmond Dailey scored 15 points in an 83-51 victory over Severna Park. Andre Bryan scored 15 in a 97-62 loss to Annapolis on Wednesday. The Gophers edged Old Mill, 60-47, on Friday. Next game: Thursday vs. Queen Anne's or Calvert in state 4A East Region semifinals.

11 Severn (23-3, 97) -- Last week's ranking: 13. The Admirals captured the Independent Schools Tournament championship, defeating Boys' Latin, 84-67, on Wednesday, Gilman, 88-69, on Thursday and McDonogh, 54-49, on Friday. Next game: Season over.

12 McDonogh (15-5, 74) -- Last week's ranking: 12. The Eagles reached the Independent Schools Tournament title game, defeating Lutheran, 85-55, on Wednesday and John Carroll, 62-41, on Thursday. Friday, Bobby Sabelhaus scored 14 points in a 54-49 loss to Severn in the championship. Next game: Season over.

13 Broadneck (14-5, 71) -- Last week's ranking: 11. Tuesday, Jason Smith scored 31 points in a 59-53 loss to Southern-AA. In a home-and-home with South River, the Bruins won 53-51 on Wednesday and 75-54 on Friday. Next game: Thursday vs. Douglass or Northwestern in state 3A East Region semifinals.

14 St. Frances (13-8, 63) -- Last week's ranking: 15. Monday, Darnell Dantzler scored 16 a 72-68 overtime victory over Loyola. The Panthers advanced to the Catholic League Tournament final, defeating Mount St. Joseph, 55-45, on Friday and Towson Catholic, 60-20, on Saturday. Last night, St. Frances fell to Gibbons, 70-66. Next game: Thursday vs. St. Maria Goretti at Towson Catholic.
