Skating Coach Quits Lillehammer 94

February 28, 1994

Peter Mueller, who was hired as U.S. Olympic team speed skating coach at the urging of gold medalists Dan Jansen and Bonnie Blair among others, said yesterday he is quitting because he's "just fed up with a lot of things."

Mueller, 39, was quoted by the Milwaukee Sentinel in Oslo, Norway, as saying he decided not to wait for a new contract from U.S. Speedskating.

"People in positions of power aren't helping the skaters and I'm tired of dealing with them," said Mueller, whose contract expires at the end of April.
