Jewelry, shotguns stolen from home

Burglars took jewelry, shotguns and a video camera, valued at more than $4,700, after breaking into a home in the 1900 block of Carrollton Road near Reese on Wednesday.

State police answered a call to the home of Jerry Howard and discovered someone had shattered a sliding glass door to gain entry to the house while the residents were away.

Among the items reported stolen were gold chains, rings, pendants, earrings, a jewelry box and a wristwatch. Mr. Howard told police an antique 12-gauge shotgun, a double-barreled shotgun and another camera were missing.


* Finksburg: Vandals used a baseball bat to shatter the windshield and side windows of a school bus parked in the 3200 block of Slasmans Road on Thursday, state police reported. The damage was estimated at $400.

* Westminster: A Hanover, Pa., resident who works at a shop on East Main Street told city police someone removed her wallet from her purse Tuesday. She estimated the loss at $20.


* Sandymount: Reese and Westminster responded to investigate a report of a natural gas leak in a building in the 2100 block of Baltimore Blvd. at 3:31 a.m. Friday. Units were out for 35 minutes.
