Cold-shooting Mount falls to FDU in finale, 72-66

EMMITSBURG -- Mount St. Mary's (13-13, 9-9) struggled in the second half and dropped its regular-season finale to Fairleigh Dickinson, 72-66, last night.

The Mountaineers finished seventh in the Northeast Conference and will play host to last-place St. Francis, N.Y., in first-round NEC tournament action tomorrow at Knott Arena at 7:30 p.m.

Mount St. Mary's led 38-34 at the half, but shot 7-for-41 (17 percent) in the second half.

Sophomore Chris McGuthrie, the Mount's top scorer with an 18.6 average, missed all 11 of his shots from the field after the break.
