* Anne Arundel County Executive Joseph W. Alton Jr. is "firmly against" expansion of Friendship International Airport to accommodate large jets. He fears expansion "would wreck" future residential development in the Linthicum and Glen Burnie areas. -- The Sun, March 5, 1969.

* Some 40 state legislators staying at the Statler Hilton Inn in Annapolis received a shock this morning when bartenders, waitresses and cooks walked off their jobs. The dispute centers around wages and fringe benefits. -- The Sun, March 6, 1969.

* The Teachers Association of Anne Arundel County and the county school board have finally reached agreement on the disputed base pay for 1969-1970. The compromise salary was raised from $6,300 to $6,800 a year with a 6 percent yearly increase. -- The Sun, March 7, 1969.
