St. Mary's rolls over J. Carroll

Anetta Davis scored a game-high 25 points to lead No. 3 St. Mary's (24-2) past John Carroll (5-14) in first-round play of the Catholic League tournament, 79-37.

Tara Foran added 16 points and Davis pulled down 16 rebounds. Kris Porcella led John Carroll with 17 points.

In tomorrow's semifinals at the College of Notre Dame, St. Mary's will meet Mount de Sales at 2 p.m. and St. Frances will meet Seton Keough at 4 p.m.

* Mount de Sales 49, Mercy 48: Amy Buck scored 16 including a driving layup with five seconds left to give Mount de Sales (15-7) a victory over Mercy in a Catholic League tournament first-round game.

* St. Frances 62, Spalding 30: Melba Chambers scored 27 as St. Frances beat host Spalding (2-18) in a Catholic League tournament quarterfinal game.

* Seton Keough (C) 51, IND 36: Meghann Donovan scored 13 to lead No. 13 Seton Keough (C) over the Institute of Notre Dame in a Catholic League Tournament quarterfinal game.

* Lake Clifton 62, Walbrook 49: Junior guard Jakia Conley led all scorers with 27 as No. 5 Lake Clifton (16-2, 14-2) defeated host Walbrook (10-6, 9-6).

* Glenelg 60, Centennial 30: Trish Kilroy scored 19 as host and No. 18 Glenelg (16-6) defeated Centennial (2-19).

* Howard 71, Atholton 26: Senior guard Emily Moore scored 31 to lead host Howard (11-11) past Atholton (6-14).

* Mount Hebron 57, Wilde Lake 30: Senior guard Emily Yanero scored 21 as No. 6 Mount Hebron (14-6, 11-1) beat Wilde Lake (9-11, 5-8).

* Old Mill 68, Glen Burnie 39: Senior Lanita Talley led No. 10 Old Mill (17-3) with 15 as the Patriots defeated Glen Burnie. Glen Burnie's Bridgett Davis had 20.

* Annapolis 50, Chesapeake-AA 37: Senior center Shannon Henderson scored 23 as No. 16 Annapolis (16-6) beat Chesapeake-AA (13-8).

* North County 64, Meade 34: Joy Farmer scored 23 and had 16 rebounds to pace North County (9-11) over Meade (3-17).

* Northeast 84, Southern-AA 67: Northeast (8-10) was led by Kristin Briggs' 22 points. Leketia Mullen led Southern-AA with 25.

* South River 52, Broadneck 39: Pam Patterson led South River (10-12) with 19.

* Joppatowne 49, North East 28: Dionna Bishop had 16 as No. 20 Joppatowne (16-3) beat host North East (9-6).

* Fallston 66, Harve de Grace 19: Lori Heffley scored 12 as No. 9 Fallston (19-0) beat Harve de Grace.

* C. M.Wright 64, Perryville 19: Erin Updegrove and Miranda James scored 11 to lead host C. M.Wright (12-6).

* Catonsville 63, Kenwood 19: Elissa Rellihan scored 13 to lead visiting Catonsville (14-5) past Kenwood (6-12).

* Franklin 50, Perry Hall 30: Franklin's Sharee Lewis had 13 as the Indians (12-4) defeated host Perry Hall (6-14) in a Baltimore County 3A-4A League game.

* Dulaney 65, Patapsco 49: Lisa Rutledge scored 28 as host Dulaney (13-4) won. Melanie Moskowitz had 29 for Patapsco.

* Northwestern 55, Douglass 25: Lakeysha Robinson made 15 to lead Northwestern (15-3).

* Milford Mill 65, Pikesville 20: Kisha Watkins scored 28 to lead host Milford Mill.
