Tired of Olympics? Try 'Columbo'

No sense falling off the wagon, or the reindeer sled, at this point: It's the Olympics again.

* "The 1994 Winter Olympic Games" (1 p.m.-6 p.m., 7 p.m.-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- During the daytime, ice hockey is available for live coverage -- although, since the U.S. team is out of the running, CBS may be jingoistic and opt not to make as big a deal of it, which would be a shame. Also on the docket today and tonight: women's slaloms, four-men bobsleds and short-track speed-skating relays. The big prime-time event isn't for a medal; it's for people who already have won one. It's exhibition skating by the 1994 gold medalists in figure skating, who are performing without pressure -- and in front of a guaranteed mammoth audience. CBS.

* "Columbo: Death Hits the Jackpot" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- This particular "Columbo" movie is from 1991 with Rip Torn guest starring as one of the villains matching wits with Peter Falk's Columbo tonight. ABC repeat.

* "I Witness Video" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- NBC is promising to fill this one-hour retrospective with highlights from "the best and most intriguing" stories from this show's first two seasons. Hmm. Minus 12 minutes for commercials, that still leaves 48 minutes unaccounted for. NBC.

* "Saturday Night Live" (11:30 p.m.-1 a.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Talk about timing: Last fall, Shannen Doherty was the guest host of "Saturday Night Live" just after her surprise wedding to Ashley Hamilton, and the show included a wedding skit making fun of her volatile image. Now, just as that "SNL" is repeated for the first time, the gossip on the street, and in the papers, is that Ms. Doherty's five-month marriage to Mr. Hamilton is over. NBC repeat.

* "Sommersby" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., HBO) -- In this 1993 movie, Richard Gere stars as a man who shows up at a family's doorstep unexpectedly, claiming to be a loved one long since presumed dead.

* "Caroline?" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., LIF) -- In this 1990 telemovie, Stephanie Zimbalist stars as a woman who shows up at a family's doorstep unexpectedly, claiming to be a loved one long since presumed dead.

* "Casablanca" (9 p.m.-10:45 p.m., DIS) -- Always worth showing, and watching. Replay it, Sam.

* "Roger Daltry" (9 p.m.-midnight, PPV) -- A Daltry birthday concert, taped the other night, in which the surviving Who members reunite -- but not as the Who. At $19.95 a pop? Don't get fooled again.
