Injured man remains in critical condition

February 25, 1994

One of two men injured Wednesday in a traffic accident on Route 27 between Mount Airy and Taylorsville remained in critical condition yesterday.

William Albert Cook Sr., 49, of Baltimore, had been taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after the crash, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

State police said Mr. Cook was driving a 1989 Dodge Dynasty north on Route 27 at Cantee Lane about 7:30 a.m.

They said he lost control of the car on the icy road, and the car turned sideways and collided with the front of a southbound 1992 Ford Econoline van driven by Benjamin K. Baublitz Jr., 49, of Westminster.
