Play It Again Sports has opened for business at the Southdale Shopping Center in Glen Burnie.

Glen Burnie Bancorp declares dividend

Glen Burnie Bancorp has declared a 20 percent stock dividend payable to shareholders of record Jan. 14, 1994.

The company is the parent company of The Bank of Glen Burnie, which has five county locations.

Earnings were $3,047,112 in 1993, an increase of 33.4 percent, making earnings per share $5.31 as compared to $4.02 per share in 1992.

Sites considered for conference center

The Conference Center Committee of the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference & Visitors Bureau recently voted to study two potential sites for a conference center for Annapolis and the county.

The committee is negotiating with the property owners of both sites while it seeks funding for engineering and design of the center and for the two studies.

CB negotiates sale of Bay Ridge Gardens

CB Commercial Real Estate Group Inc. recently negotiated the sale of the 198-unit Bay Ridge Gardens apartments in Annapolis, for $3,850,000, for seller Annapolis Woods Joint Venture and buyer Bay Ridge Gardens Ltd. Partnership.

The property will be renovated over the next 18 months.

In another CB transaction, Pepsi Cola East is relocating its business offices from Baltimore to 12,840 square feet of office space in Manekin Corp.'s building in the Commons Corporate Park in Hanover.

CB represented the tenant, Pepsi Cola East.

Store gives $2,520 to children's program

The Glen Burnie Wal-Mart store recently donated $2,520 for the Caring Program for Children.

Proceeds came from a day-after-Thanksgiving fund-raiser, with a percentage of the store's sales set aside for donation.

The Caring Program helps provide health care benefits to children of low-income families.

Insurance partnership opens in Annapolis

A new insurance partnership, Phipps-Roth and Associates, has opened in Annapolis.

The new business will offer personal insurance counseling and a full range of insurance products.

New restaurant offers break for A students

Mick's restaurant has opened at the Annapolis Mall.

The restaurant's menu includes meat loaf, chicken pot pie, pasta, hot dogs and hamburgers.

A free lunch or dinner will be given to students who present a straight A report card, and 50 cents will be taken off the check for each A on the report card of other students.

Farmers National has record earnings

Farmers National Bancorp has reported record earnings of net operating income of $9.5 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 1993.

Keller Foundations forms new company

Keller Foundations Inc., headquartered in Odenton, has formed Case Foundation Co. in Chicago.

Keller is a group of leading specialty contractors that provides a geotechnical engineering services to the construction business.

Case is a specialty drill shaft, slurry wall and piling contractor.
