No. 9 Glen Burnie tops Severna Park, 83-51

Sophomore guard Desmond Dailey scored 15 points, including four three-pointers, as No. 9 Glen Burnie (17-3, 11-2) defeated visiting Severna Park (2-18, 1-12), 83-51, in an Anne Arundel County League game yesterday.

Marquise Farmer added 12 for the Gophers.

Todd Batty led Severna Park with 17, including three three-pointers.

* Meade 65, Chesapeake-AA 52: Meade's Tyrone Jones scored a game-high 18 points to lead Meade (9-11, 7-7) over visiting Chesapeake (3-16, 1-11) in an Anne Arundel County League game.

Jones hit 9-for-9 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds, and Dennis Jenks added 12 points for the Mustangs.

Aubrey Goff and Chris Kintop had 10 each for Chesapeake-AA.

* South River 82, Northeast 57: Corey Davis scored 18 as host South River (11-7, 3-4) beat Northeast (5-15, 0-5) in an Anne Arundel County League game.

Russel Tongue scored 12 for South River. Mike Eaton led Northeast with 21 and five steals.

* Annapolis 88, North County 74: Rodney Watts scored 22 as visiting Annapolis (18-2, 11-1) defeated North County (9-11, 5-9) in an Anne Arundel County League game.

Ronnie Johnson added 20 for the Panthers. North County's Tweedy Barton led all scorers with 25.

* AACS 52, Arlington Baptist 46: Greg Raspa scored 15 to lead Annapolis Area Christian School past host Arlington Baptist (12-6, 8-4) in an ACS league game.

Arlington Baptist came within three with six minutes left befor AACS pulled away. Leonard Morgan led Arlington Baptist with 17.

Girls basketball

* St. Mary's 77, Mercy 47: Annetta Davis scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead No. 3 St. Mary's (23-2, 14-0) past visiting Mercy (10-11, 6-7). Tara Foran added 18 and 11 rebounds for St. Mary's. Bridget Smith finished with eight and 11 assists.

* Annapolis 63, N. County 41: Cristi Samaras scored 22 points to lead No. 16 Annapolis (14-6, 7-4) past host North County (7-11, 3-8) in an Anne Arundel County League game.

* Sev. Park 57, Glen Burnie 44: Despite Bridget Davis' game-high 28 points, host Glen Burnie (1-18, 0-11) lost to No. 11 Severna Park (17-2, 9-1) in an Anne Arundel County League game.

Lauryn McAlister led Severna Park with 12 points and Alli Adams contributed 11 points.

* Broadneck 42, Southern-AA 25: Alicia Nagowski scored 12 to lead visiting Broadneck (11-8, 4-0) past Southern-AA (6-14, 0-4) in an Anne Arundel County League game.

Broadneck built a 22-7 halftime en route to the win. Leketia Mullen led Southern with 11.

* Northeast 81, South River 71: Jen Johansen scored 34 points to lead Northeast (8-11, 2-2) past host South River (7-11, 1-2) in an Anne Arundel League game.

Johansen totaled 10 three-pointers and added five steals and four assists. Jamie Pleyo scored 19 points and made six assists.

7+ Pam Patterson led South River with 26.
