ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a gunman who shot an employee of a card shop on Hillen Road during a robbery Tuesday that netted the man an undisclosed sum of money. After browsing around the Hallmark card shop in the 5800 block of Hillen Road, the man brandished a nickel-plated handgun and ordered the 46-year-old employee to give him money from the store's cash register and the register containing State Lottery receipts. After taking the money, the gunman fired a shot that struck the cash register before hitting the employee in the stomach. The gunman fled. Police said the employee was taken to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment and was released.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 41-year-old resident of the 200 block of Chancery Road in Guilford was about to remove her full-length mink coat from the trunk of her car inside her garage Tuesday evening when a man appeared behind her and said, "Give me everything you have." The woman gave the man her mink coat, three diamond-studded wedding bands and 50 $100 bills, all valued at $31,500. The man, who did not display a weapon, the told the woman to raise the garage door and let him out.

ASSAULT: Eastern District -- Police were seeking a man who beat a 23-year-old resident of the 500 block of E. 30th St. with a baseball bat in the 1900 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday evening before getting into a car and driving away. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was listed in serious but stable condition.

ARSON/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested two teen-age boys and charged them as juveniles with setting a fire Tuesday that caused minor damage to a vacant gas station in the 2700 block of Sisson St.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 4100 block of Belle Ave. was robbed of $8 as she walked near her home Tuesday by an unarmed man.

SHOOTING: Southern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of Sergeant St. was walking near the railroad tracks in the 800 block of S. Carey St. Tuesday when someone fired a shot that struck his hand.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- A man robbed the Royal Farms store in the 4900 block of Hazelwood Ave. of an undisclosed sum of money early today before escaping on foot.
