Man robbed at gunpoint while fixing his truck

A 26-year-old man was mugged and robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning by three men while he was trying to fix his stalled truck, police said.

Hobert Bowers Jr., who lives on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard, told police his truck broke down in the 6000 block of Belle Grove Road about 9:30 a.m. As he was looking under the hood, three men pulled up behind him. One approached Mr. Bowers and asked what was wrong, police said.

When Mr. Bowers began to answer, the man then asked him if he had a gun. Mr. Bowers said no and the man then patted Mr. Bowers down, police said. When Mr. Bowers protested, the man pulled out a gun and stole $400.

The robber got into the car with the other two men and left, police said.

One of the suspects was described as a black male in his 20s wearing a green army coat, a hood and work boots. Mr. Bowers was unable to identify the other two suspects.
