Carmichael, Jackson honored

Keith Carmichael of Coppin State was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week yesterday after accumulating 49 points and 12 rebounds in victories against Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State.

Carmichael, a 6-foot-3 junior guard from Camden, N.J., hit 19 of 27 field-goal attempts, including 10 of 15 three-point tries.

Meanwhile, Navy's Kim Jackson was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the second time of the season.

A point guard, she averaged 13.0 points in games against Holy Cross and Bucknell.
