February 21, 1994

The parents of three children were treated for injuries early Saturday after a fire destroyed their home in Highland, Howard County fire officials said.

Frank C. Jaworski, 37, was taken to Montgomery General Hospital in Olney for treatment of burns on his hands and feet. His wife, Sandra, 34, was treated for smoke inhalation. Both were released, Battalion Chief Donald R. Howell said.

The couple's children, Monica, 5, Keith, 4, and Paul, 2, were not injured.

About 18 units from Howard and Montgomery counties fought the 3 a.m. blaze in the 6700 block of Montell Court, near the Montgomery County line, Chief Howell said. The fire was under control by about 6 a.m., but firefighters remained on the scene until after 9 a.m.

The fire caused about $260,000 damage to the home in the Green Hill Manor community, Chief Howell said. The cause was being investigated.
