The Harford County Junior Wrestling Tournament at Aberdeen High School finished with the host team, Aberdeen, taking first place with 173 points and Fallston a close second (143 points).

Individual results for Fallston included championship wins for Chris Baum at 50 pounds and Dominic Bruno at 55 pounds, both in the Pee Wee division.

In the Pee Wee division, Steve Markowski (50), Adam McCord (65) and Phillip Tanneyhill (70) advanced to the finals, finishing second. Kyle McGrath wrestled at 65 pounds, finishing in fourth place for a medal.

In the Midget division, championship wins were earned by Drew White (60), Ben Becker (100) and Dave Sabatino (130). Advancing to the finals and placing second were Randy Remeto (75), Kevin White (80), Dan Lightfoot (95) and Brad Earle (119).

Marco Mussella (65) finished second and Kurk Haslbeck (75) finished third, and J. C. Cropf finished in fourth place.

In the Junior division, Andy Michalak won the championship at 160 pounds. Five of his teammates made it to the finals to finish second. They were Scott Markham (75), Pat Rose (80), Dave Williamson (95), Tony Russo (100) and Mike Strobel (105).

J. B. Englar finished third at 70 pounds, as did teammate J. D. Rainey, wrestling at 90 pounds. Stan Warner (80), Caleb Church (119) and Grep Spurgeon (133) each finished fourth.

Other wrestlers who competed in the 8-under age group were Doug Baum (38), Mike Rainey (45), Alex Dunstan (63) and John Rinehart (55).

Fawn Grove, which finished third as a team, had five champions -- Jeff Schabdach (45) and Greg Davis (90), both in the Pee Wee division, and Paul Miller (70), Mark Tompkins (126) and Rob Leckrone (133), each in the Junior division.

Boys soccer

The Harford Boys and Girls Bombers participated in the Valentine Soccer Tournament at the Maryland Sports Arena in Edgewood, finishing with one win and two ties.

The Bombers rolled over the Cecil Blast, 7-0. Derrick Kopek scored twice with Stephen Guignet, Jimmy Cassady, Josh Jones, Tommy Gurrera and Mike Unkelbach each adding one goal.

Matt Bundy, Ted Jakubowski and Matt McNulty each had an assist. Ronnie Scott was in goal in the victory.

The Bombers' ties came against White Marsh, 1-1, and Forest Hill, 2-2.

Chris Jubb and Donnie Boxendahl each scored in the game against Forest Hill, and Owen Jarvis had the lone assist. Against White Marsh, Brandon O'Hara scored the lone goal. Mike Unkelbach was in goal in both of these games.

Girls soccer

The Fallston Fireballs won the under-12 indoor championship for the first session at Perring Athletic Club with a record of 5-0-3.

Members of the Fireballs championship team were: Meaghan Beach, Leah Clark, Gail Chapolini, Meekah Hopkins, Melissa Hedrick, Kim Karlinchak, Shari Kolmer, Maureen Ockuly, Jenny Schuerholz, Nicole Shifflett, Sarah Shockley, Pam Slagle, Ally Vignola and Lauren Wons.
