Orioles -- Agreed to terms with P John O'Donoghue and OF Sherman Obando on one-year contracts.

Chicago Cubs -- Agreed to terms with P Frank Castillo, P Larry Luebbers and P Rafael Novoa on one-year contracts.

New York Mets -- Agreed to terms with P Josias Manzanillo, P Jason Jacome, 1B Alan Zinter and 2B Quilvio Veras on one-year contracts.


Detroit Pistons -- Rescinded the trade that would have sent C Olden Polynice and F David Wood to the Sacramento Kings for C Duane Causwell and three future second-round draft picks, saying Causwell failed to pass a physical examination.

Philadelphia 76ers -- Placed C Shawn Bradley on the injured list ++ and announced that he will miss the remainder of the season.

San Antonio Spurs -- Activated F Antoine Carr. Placed F Terry Cummings on the injured list with an upper respiratory infection.


Coastal Carolina -- Declared basketball player Mohammed Acha, the team's second-leading scorer and top rebounder, ineligible for last night's game because of possible recruiting violations.



Atlanta Falcons -- Agreed to terms with OL Roman Fortin.

Miami Dolphins -- Signed S Gene Atkins to a four-year contract. Signed unrestricted free-agent K Pete Stoyanovich to a four-year contract.

New England Patriots -- Signed OL Bob Kratch to a multiyear contract.


Masters -- Announced it has invited Johnny Miller to play this April because of his victory in the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am two weeks ago.


MA French Soccer Federation -- Elected Claude Simonet president.
