3 adults, 2 youths face drug charges after raid

Three adults and two youths were being held at the Howard County Detention Center yesterday after being arrested on drug charges during a narcotics raid in Oakland Mills on Wednesday night.

Detectives in the county Police Department's street drug section raided a home in the 9500 block of Kilimanjaro Road at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday. More than a pound of marijuana a small amount of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia were found, police said.

Held on $3,500 bond at the Howard County Detention Center yesterday were Joshua A. Alperstein, 18, who lived at the home that police searched; Nicholas S. Pyen, 20, of the 200 block of Beaumont Road in Silver Spring; and Brian P. Wallace, 20, of the 6300 block of Rainbow Span in Columbia.

Two 17-year-olds from Columbia were released to their parents' custody.

All were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of cocaine.
