Henderson sparks Annapolis, 53-35

Senior Shannon Henderson scored 13 points and had 18 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead No. 16 Annapolis (12-6) past visiting Chesapeake (11-6), 53-35, in an Anne Arundel 4A League girls basketball game.

Emily Nugent and Cristi Samaras contributed 10 points each for the Panthers.

* Old Mill 57, Southern 47: No. 10 Old Mill jumped to a 29-16 halftime lead en route to a victory over host Southern-AA. Lisa Biederman led the Bulldogs with 17.

* Seton Keough 52, Spalding 31: Freshman Charity Carbine led visiting No. 12 Seton Keough to a win over Spalding with 16. JuniorCathy Dunaway added 14 for the Gators.

Stephanie Paxson led Spalding with 10.

* Broadneck 50, Glen Burnie 28: Alicia Nagowski scored 10 as host Broadneck beat Glen Burnie.

Tammie Carson led the Gophers with eight while Stacey Ellenberger added seven.

Boys basketball

* Southern-AA 67, Old Mill 49: Senior forward Chatney Howard scored 31 to lead Southern-AA (12-4) past Old Mill. Howard had five steals and five assists for the Bulldogs.

* Annapolis 96, Chesapeake-AA 51: Rico Lee led No. 6 Annapolis (16-2) with 21 points en route to a victory over host Chesapeake (3-15).

Ronny Johnson added 16 to Annapolis' cause.

* South River 67, Northeast 52: South River's Corey Davis had 20 as the Seahawks beat Northeast.

Jeff Dolch and Delray Brooks combined for 20 in a losing effort.

* Meade 60, Severna Park 50: Tyrone Jones scored 19 and grabbed nine rebounds to lead host Meade (8-10, 8-9) past Severna Park. Senior Teddy Brent chipped in 13 for the Mustangs.

Dennis Jenks and D'Andre Hiers added 10 each for Meade.

Brian Morehead was Severna Park's leading scorer with 13.
