Towson Cath. ousts Lutheran

Senior Amy Cullum scored 13 points to lead Towson Catholic past Lutheran, 34-22, in an Association of Independent Schools B Conference semifinal girls basketball game yesterday.

Rebecca Becker added seven for the Owls, who will play St. Timothy's in today's title game at 4 p.m. at Bryn Mawr.

Abbey Hamman led Lutheran with nine.

Towson Catholic defeated St. Timothy's, 31-28 in their only meeting of the season.

* St. Timothy's 45, Beth Tfiloh 18: Missy Cramer scored a game-high 17 points to lead St. Timothy's past Beth Tfiloh in the other AIS B semifinal.

Cramer made seven steals and pulled down eight rebounds in the victory.

Boys basketball

* Cardinal Gibbons 60, St. Frances 52: No. 8 Cardinal Gibbons (9-2, 19-6) defeated visiting and No. 13 St. Frances (5-4, 8-7) in a Catholic League game.

Seniors Jerard Rucker (four rebounds) and Steve Wojciechowski six assists) combined for 36 points to lead Gibbons. Keon Chavez led St. Frances with nine points and nine rebounds.

St. Frances led at halftime, 33-28, but Gibbons outscored St. Frances 14-7 in the third quarter. Wojciechowski hit his last six foul shots for the final margin of victory.

* Bowling Brook 75, Mount Carmel 46: James Singletary scored 14 points and Kamau Thomas added 12 to lead Bowling Brook past visiting Mt. Carmel in MSA C Conference semifinal game. Bowling Brook will play the winner of today's other semifinal game between Park and Lutheran in Saturday's championship game at 8 p.m. at Goucher College.
