POLICE

* Mount Airy: An employee of Larrick Air Inc. told state police lTC that someone forced the rear door of a company van while it was parked in the 400 block of Windy Knoll Drive and stole power tools and a Kawasaki generator Monday. The loss is estimated at $4,253.

* Dorsey Crossroads: A resident of Middletown reported to state police that someone broke into her car and stole 25 cassettes while it was in the park-and-ride lot at Old Liberty Road and Route 97 on Saturday. She estimated the loss at $350.

* Taylorsville: A resident of the 3800 block of Roop Road told state police that someone broke into her car and stole a stereo system while the car was parked near her home Saturday. She estimated the loss at $275.

FIRE

* Mount Airy: Mount Airy responded for a trash fire on Belmont Drive at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday. Units were out for 20 minutes.

Mount Airy, Winfield and Libertytown of Frederick County responded to a chimney fire in the 3800 block of Atheen Drive at 5:26 p.m. Monday. Units were out for an hour.
