According to "CBS This Morning," today's the day the network will relay coverage of the first practice session attended by both Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. Each, no doubt, has thought long and hard about how, and if, to react to the other, and this non-event is sure to be broadcast as many times as any medal-winning performance. Can you say "media circus," boys and girls?

* "The 1994 Winter Olympic Games" (8-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- The onslaught begins in earnest: In addition to the events covered by CBS tonight, the network has scheduled a prime-time "women's figure skating preview." As if there's anyone alive that doesn't know what, or who, is coming. CBS.

* "The Simpsons" (8-8:30 p.m., WBFF, Channel 45) -- This is the first night when the Olympics have some real competition, starting with this cartoon sitcom, which tonight features guest voice Kathleen Turner. Fox.

* "Seinfeld" (9-9:30 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- The "Seinfeld" writers, who are no dummies, have scheduled an original episode in which Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) discovers she's been used as the model for a mannequin. NBC.

* "Frasier" (9:30-10 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Add to it a fresh episode of this show . . . NBC.

* "L. A. Law" (10-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- . . . and of this one, and you've got yourself some pretty solid Olympics competition. NBC.

Cable

* "Dr. Zhivago" (8 p.m.-12:15 a.m., TNT) -- On tonight's installment of TNT's "Our Favorite Movies" series, Lolita Davidovich is host of a showing of "Dr. Zhivago" -- which is a lot more watchable, I guess, than having some doctor named Zhivago as host of a showing of "Lolita." Then again, maybe not.

* "Mayerling" (12:15-3 a.m., TNT) -- It's an all-Sharif night on TNT, as Omar Sharif, who starred in "Dr. Zhivago," also stars in this film and the one after it on TNT. In "Mayerling," he plays Austria's Crown Prince Rudolf, who has an affair with a baroness played by Catherine Deneuve.

* "Genghis Khan" (3-6 a.m., TNT) -- Finally, Mr. Sharif can be seen in the title role of this 1965 film, which co-stars Telly Savalas. How did Mr. Sharif prepare himself for this particular role? By saying to himself, over and over, "I think I Khan, I think I Khan . . ."
