Mountain bike stolen from 30-year-old rider

A 30-year-old Brooklyn Park man was assaulted and robbed of his mountain bike Monday evening in the parking lot of a Save-A-Lot store located on Townsend Avenue at Ritchie Highway, police said.

William John Gorsch, who lives in the 5200 block of Kramme Ave., told police that a man pushed him off the bike and rode east on Townsend Avenue about 6 p.m. The victim estimated the worth of the bicycle, which was light blue and had black rims, at $359.

Police searched the area but could not find the assailant or the bike.
