Coastal Carolina tops UMBC

CONWAY, S.C. -- Junior KeKe Hicks scored a season-high 32 points to lead Coastal Carolina to its second straight win and seventh in the past eight games, a 74-64 victory over over UMBC in a Big South game last night.

The Retrievers (5-16, 4-9) are winless (0-11) on the road.

Coastal Carolina (14-8, 9-5) outscored UMBC 27-18 in the final 11:11 of the game. UMBC closed the gap to four with 8:58 left on Kevin Bellinger's two free throws.

Bellinger led UMBC with 16 points, and Skip Saunders and Pascal Fleury each had 10.
