1. Ryan Homes has opened a new section at Fox Run Estates in Elkridge in Howard County, offering five models selling for between $143,950 and $176,450.

* The smallest Ryan home at Fox Run is the Staunton, a 1,150-square-foot split-level, that sells for $143,950. It has living and dining rooms, kitchen, three bedrooms, two full baths and an unfinished basement. A basement recreation room with powder room can be added for $5,600.

* The New Haven, a 1,222-square-foot, split-foyer for $148,950, has a living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms and two full baths. For $13,000, the basement can include a family room and two more bedrooms, making the home 2,260 square feet.

* The 1,461-square-foot Bradford costs $161,450. This two-story Colonial includes kitchen, dining and living rooms, a 13-by-15-foot master bedroom, two additional bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a one-car garage. Optional items include a brick front ($3,500), two-car garage ($4,000), 12-by-18-foot first-floor family room ($8,000), and finished basement with recreation room and powder room ($1,800).

* The Stratford, with a base price of $171,150, is a 1,800-square-foot two-story Colonial with two-car garage, a 12-by-18-foot master bedroom and three more bedrooms, 11-by-17-foot first-floor family room, 2 1/2 baths, kitchen, living and dining rooms and unfinished basement. The optional brick front is $1,800.

* With 1,891-square-foot of finished space, the Birchwood is Ryan's largest home at Fox Run. For $176,450, the two-story Colonial comes with a 12-by-15 master bedroom, three more bedrooms, two full and one half bath, 12-by-18-foot first-floor family room, living and dining rooms, kitchen, two-car garage and unfinished basement. Options include a brick front ($4,200) and gas cooking ($200). The Fox Run information center is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Take I-95 South to Route 100 (exit 43). Take 100 to a left on U.S. 1 and to a left on Ducketts Lane to the sales center on the left.

2. Pulte Home Corp. has opened models of two of the three three-level, 1,672-square-foot, brick-front townhomes that it is building in Sherwood Hill at Owings Mills New Town.

* The Easton costs $139,990. It has a front kitchen with a pantry, breakfast nook and pass-through to the dining room. There is a 21-by-12-foot living room, a 14-by-12-foot master bedroom with a skylight and cathedral ceiling, two additional bedrooms, a master bath with soaking tub and separate shower, a hall bath, second-floor laundry room, entry foyer with hardwood floor and french doors.

* An eat-in, rear kitchen, formal dining room and 23-by-18-foot living room are found in the Kent, which has a base price of $140,490. It also has a 14-by-12-foot master bedroom with cathedral ceiling, two more bedrooms, master bath with separate shower and tub, second-floor laundry and hardwood foyer.

* There is no model for the York, which also sells for $140,490. It features a 21-by-14-foot country kitchen with work island. It also has three bedrooms, two full baths, second-floor laundry, a 14-by-11-foot dining room and 18-by-11-foot living room.

All homes can be customized by adding options like a third-floor loft, lower-level family room, den, fireplaces, skylights, whirlpool tubs, additional baths and walkout basements.

Gas heat is standard in all homes.

Owings Mills New Town is bordered by the 1,900-acre Soldier's Delight Park and Baltimore County's Stream Valley Park. There is a village shopping center with a grocery store, gas station, convience store and office space.

The models are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Take I-695 to I-795 to Owings Mills Boulevard West, to a right on Lakeside Boulevard, a right on Dolfield Boulevard to a left on Upper Mill Court to models on the right.
