Knife used to threaten boy in Brooklyn Park

February 11, 1994

An 11-year-old Brooklyn Park boy was threatened with a knif Monday afternoon, police said.

The boy, who lives on 1st Street, was playing with his sister in an adjacent alley when an older youth chased him and pushed him into a trash bin. The attacker then pulled out a knife and pointed it at the boy, police said. The victim kicked at the suspect, who then got into a blue Mustang occupied by two other men and a woman.

The boy told police he did not know his assailant but had seen him before at a local store trying to steal something. The boy said he had turned the suspect in to store employees, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 18 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wearing a Georgetown cap, a Georgetown jacket and orange pants.
