THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a man Thursday who attempted to leave the Giant food store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane without paying for a case of toothpaste valued at more than $90. The man was being held at the station pending charges and a bail hearing.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a 1986 Nissan hatchback parked in the 4800 block of Belair Road Wednesday and stole property valued at nearly $1,000.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking two men who entered Baltimore Quality Meats in the 5100 block of Hamilton Ave. Thursday and stole $200 from a cash register.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property valued at nearly $100 was stolen from a house in the 1600 block of Lil Jones Court at Hollander Ridge Wednesday by someone who entered through a bedroom window.

STOLEN CAR: Northeastern District -- A green 1993 Honda with Maryland tags AXW685 was stolen from the 4800 block of Bowland Ave. Wednesday or Thursday.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police were seeking several youths who attacked three teen-agers playing basketball at the Roosevelt Recreation Center in the 1200 block of W. 36th St. Thursday and assaulted them with their fists and threatened them with a gun. The victims, two from the 800 block of Powers St. and the third from the 1500 block of E. Baltimore St., were not seriously injured. Police said the youths sought are black and that the victims are white, but that it was not immediately known if the incident was racially motivated.

PURSE SNATCH: Northern District -- A resident of the 700 block of E. 35th St. was walking near her home Thursday when a man approached her from the rear and stole her purse and umbrella, all valued at nearly $30.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a trailer owned by a construction company while it was parked on Art Museum Drive near the Baltimore Museum of Art Wednesday or Thursday and stole tools valued at more than $800.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1988 Chevrolet with Maryland tags VTW385 was stolen Thursday from the 200 block of E. 32nd St.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Spellman Road was walking in the 900 block of Cherry Hill Road rTC Thursday night when a gunman robbed her of $18.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A TV,VCR and microwave oven, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen from a house in the 1700 block of Cole St. Thursday.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of Popland St. between Sunday and Thursday and stole tools and coins.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 2500 block of Salem Ave. of an undisclosed sum of money in the 1200 block of Clendening St. Wednesday afternoon. During the incident, the gunman and his accomplice attempted to rob a resident of the 1400 block of Highberry Court. That man, police said, had no money.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 900 block of N. Gilmor St. was in the 1000 block of N. Calhoun St. Wednesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $22 and a coat, valued at nearly $180.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police were seeking two men who shot a resident of the 2600 block of Oswego Ave. in the upper leg Thursday night during an incident in the 2300 block of Edmondson Ave. The victim was treated at an area hospital.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Garrison Boulevard was walking near his home Thursday evening when a gunman robbed him of $20.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1978 brown Volvo owned by a resident of the 2600 block of W. Cold Spring Lane with Maryland tags YAN103 was stolen from the 4300 block of Pimlico Road between Monday and Thursday.

CARJACKING: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3600 block of Clifton Ave. was in the 3800 block of Liberty Heights Ave. Thursday night when a gunman robbed him of his wallet, cash and key. The gunman then robbed the motorist of his 1989 Dodge with Maryland tags TSF499.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Central District -- Police responding to a burglary in progress at the Preston Street Laundromat in the first block of E. Preston St. entered the building and arrested a man.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Madison Ave. was in the 2400 block of McCulloh St. Thursday when a man wearing black clothing and a black ski mask robbed him of $50.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a vehicle owned by a Glen Burnie electronics firm Thursday and stole a drill valued at ,, nearly $500.

Baltimore County

BURGLARY: Parkville District -- Someone entered a house in the 3000 block of First Ave.in Carney through a rear kitchen door window Thursday and stole cash, prescription medicines, and a bottle of wine, all valued at more than $300.

THEFT: Towson District -- Tools valued at $500 were stolen from a 1991 Mazda multi-purpose vehicle parked in the 6900 block of Ten Timbers Lane Thursday. Before stealing the tools and fleeing, the thief attempted to steal the vehicle by popping the ignition but failed to start it.
