Colorado Rockies -- Agreed to terms with OF Dante Bichette on a one-year contract.

Houston Astros -- Agreed to terms with former Orioles P Pete Harnisch and P Tom Edens on one-year contracts.

Milwaukee Brewers -- Agreed to terms with OF Greg Vaughn on a three-year contract.

Montreal Expos -- Agreed to terms with OF Yamil Benitez and OF Marquis Grissom on one-year contracts.

New York Mets -- Agreed to terms with SS Reynoldo Ordonez on a minor-league contract.

Texas Rangers -- Agreed to terms with P Roger Pavlik on a one-year contract.


NBA -- Named New York F Charles Oakley to the Eastern Conference All-Star team, replacing Alonzo Mourning who is injured. Also, Antonio Davis of Indiana will replace the injured Doug Christie of the Los Angeles Lakers in the field of six players competing in the NBA slam-dunk championship on All-Star Saturday this week in Minneapolis.

Sacramento Kings -- Activated C Duane Causwell; placed C Randy Breuer on the injured list.


Louisiana Tech -- Announced G Lorenzo Ewing has quit the basketball team.

Notre Dame -- Named Dean Pees defensive coordinator.

South Carolina -- Named Dan Radakovich assistant athletics director for business.


Detroit Lions -- Waived CB Melvin Jenkins.

Houston Oilers -- Promoted offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride to assistant head coach on offense. Named Dick Coury offensive coordinator.

New England Patriots -- Named Mike Pope running backs coach; named Maurice Carthon an offensive assistant.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Named John Wooten Vice President-Director of Player Personnel Operations.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- Named David Culley wide receivers coach; Ken Clarke defensive line coach, and Johnnie Lynn defensive backs coach.


NHL -- Suspended Hartford LW Brian Propp for four games and fined him $400 for slashing Montreal's Vincent Damphousse in a game on Feb. 2.

PD Philadelphia Flyers -- Recalled D Bob Wilkie from Hershey (AHL).
