Town of New Windsor hit by series of break-ins

Residents of New Windsor experienced a rash of break-ins and thefts over the weekend. Police said six buildings and vehicles, including the mayor's, were hit.

State police said a lock on a shed belonging to Mayor Jack Gullo Jr. was cut, but nothing was taken. Two other residents in the same block of Main Street reported break-ins, police said. In once case, an automobile emergency kit valued at $20 was stolen.

A resident of Church Street reported someone cut the lock on a garage and broke a window of the van inside. The stereo system was stolen. The owner was not able to estimate the loss.


* Taneytown: Taneytown responded for an emergency water detail in the 400 block Cherry Oak Court at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 31 minutes.
