Woman, 93, killed by car while crossing the street

A 93-year-old woman was killed Thursday when she was hit by a car while she was crossing Shelly Road, county police reported.

Vivian Fisher, of the 6600 block of Roberts Court in Glen Burnie, was in the crosswalk near Whitmore Court at 6:25 p.m. when the driver of a 1987 Volkswagen heading south on Shelly Road hit her, police said.

Ms. Fisher was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was pronounced dead at 8 p.m., police said.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 31-year-old Baltimore man, was not charged. The case was forwarded to the state's attorneys office.

Baltimore man robbed outside restaurant

A 28-year-old Baltimore man told police he was robbed outside a Glen Burnie restaurant early Friday.

Carl Lee Ward, of the 1500 block of Elmtree St., said he was outside Mo's Seafood in the 7100 block of Ritchie Highway at 12:36 a.m. when three men walked up and demanded his money. When Mr. Ward said he did not have any money, one of the men cut his shirt with a knife.

Mr. Ward gave the men his cash and they ran away, police said.

The robbers were described as two white men in their 20s. One had dark hair, the other blond. Both were about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing jeans. The third assailant was described as black, in his early 20s, 6 feet tall and wearing a black and green hat.
