February 07, 1994

A gunman forced a delivery man into an Annapolis restaurant early Thursday and tried to shoot open the safe, county police reported.

Investigators said the delivery man was approached in the parking lot of the Outback Steak House in the 2200 block of Forest Drive at 8:37 a.m.

Once inside the restaurant, the gunman put the delivery man rTC and the manager in a closet, police said. He fired a gunshot at the safe, but it would not open. He left after taking money from another part of the restaurant, police said. The two restaurant employees got out of the closet and called police.

The gunman was described as a black man, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a navy blue ski mask, blue pants, a brown waist-length coat and blue tennis shoes.
