'Shoot-A-Hoop' to aid Mike Doyle

Glenwood Middle School will hold "Shoot-A-Hoop," a benefit basketball tournament from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the transplant candidates assistance fund for Mike Doyle, who has cystic fibrosis. He is the son of Glenwood Middle School math teacher Mary Ellen Doyle.

Teams of seven that include students and adults must raise at least $140 to compete. Local businesses have made donations for door prizes that will be awarded the night of the event.

Information: Tom Thrasher at 313-5520.
