Walbrook upsets Lake Clifton

Junior swingman Travon Broadway scored 24 points and had nine rebounds to lift visiting and No. 14 Walbrook (5-7, 3-2) to an 83-74 upset of No. 5 Lake Clifton (10-5, 4-3) in a Baltimore City 4A boys basketball League game yesterday.

* Centennial 55, Mount Hebron 49: Senior reserve Will Latta (10 points) made five of six free throws down the stretch to spark the Eagles (9-5) to an upset of No. 13 Mount Hebron (12-2, 4-2). Centennial senior Seann Jones also hit five of six free throws and scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth period.

* Woodlawn 78, Parkville 44: Emanuele Adekunle scored 19 points and Guy Butler added 16, leading No. 4 Woodlawn (13-0, 10-0) to its 37th consecutive regular-season victory with a win over host Parkville (0-10, 0-10) in a Baltimore County 3A-4A League game.

* Gilman 63, St. Paul 48: Jimmy Fields scored 26 points to help Gilman (13-5, 8-1) defeat visiting St. Paul's (2-6,7-8) in an MSA B Conference game.

Girls basketball

* Arundel 74, Glen Burnie 28: Chavonne Hammond had 13 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead No. 17 Arundel (12-3, 6-12) over host Glen Burnie (0-9, 1-14) in an Arundel 4A League game.

* Annapolis 73, South River 35: Senior guard Christie Samaras scored 24 points as Annapolis (8-5) coasted past South River in a nonleague game.

* Chesapeake-AA 52, Southern-AA 23: Megan VanWambeke scored 12 points to lead host Chesapeake-AA (9-5) past Southern-AA (6-8) in an Anne Arundel County game.

* St. Frances 57, Spalding 34: Kristi and Kortni Webb combined for 38 points as No. 5 St. Frances (15-2) downed Spalding (2-12) in a Catholic League game.

* McDonogh 41, Garrison Forest 31: Sophomore Laurie Schwoy scored 10 points to lead No. 13 McDonogh (13-2) over Garrison Forest in an AIS A Conference game.
