Grand jury indicts 2 men in shooting of Catonsville man

A Carroll County grand jury returned indictments last week against the two men charged in a Jan. 8 drive-by shooting in Mount Airy.

Indictments were returned against David William Doolittle, 29, of the 16000 block of Moss Meadow Way in Mount Airy and Stephen Wayne Knight, 34, of Lawson's Trailer Park in New Market.

Both were charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, assault with intent to murder, shooting with intent to maim, reckless endangerment, using a handgun in the commission of a felony, transporting a handgun and battery.

Both men are charged in the shooting of Brian Keith Dehn, 19, of Catonsville, who was treated at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

The defendants' initial appearances are scheduled for March 10 in Carroll Circuit Court.

Both defendants were released after posting bond last month.

FIRE

* Winfield: Firefighters from the Winfield station were dispatched to investigate a report of a fire alarm sounding in a building on Old Liberty Road at 8:24 p.m. Monday. They were out for 24 minutes.
