Jewish Federation to join national fund-raiser

The Jewish Federation of Howard County will conduct "Super Phone Day," the nationwide phone campaign of the United Jewish Appeal, Sunday.

Funds raised will support programs in Howard County for seniors and youth; scholarships for Jewish education; grants for Jewish educational programs; events on Yom HaShoah and Purim; social services; and support for Jews overseas and in Israel.

A separate gift also is requested for Operation Exodus to provide funds for Eastern European, Russian and Ethiopian immigration and acculturation to Israel and in Howard County.

Volunteers also are needed for phoning and in other capacities on Sunday.
