Association reschedules hearing

January 31, 1994

The Columbia Association has rescheduled a public hearing on its proposed fiscal 1995 budget for 8 p.m. tomorrow at Kahler Hall at the Harper's Choice Village Center.

Thursday's scheduled hearing was postponed because of the weather.

The Columbia Council, the association's board of directors, has proposed a $31.8 million operating budget and $5.8 million capital spending plan, which keep the assessment rate at 73 cents per $100 of assessed property value.

Residents or groups wishing to testify can register in advance by calling the association at 715-3120, or they can sign up at the hearing.

The association manages the unincorporated community's recreational facilities, social programs and open space lands.

The council plans to adopt a budget either Feb. 28 or March 1. The budget would take effect May 1.
