RAPE: Eastern District -- A man grabbed a woman in the 700 block of N. Linwood Ave. early yesterday, forced her into a nearby vacant house, and sexually assaulted her. The victim was treated and released from an area hospital.

BURGLARY: Eastern District -- A man was arrested yesterday morning after he allegedly broke into a house in the 900 block of N. Madeira St. by forcing open a rear window. Police caught him before he was able to steal anything.

CARJACKING: Eastern District -- A man armed with a handgun threatened to shoot a motorist stopped in traffic yesterday in the 1400 block of N. Bond St. He ordered the driver out of the car and then stole his Chevy Malibu.

LARCENY: Eastern District -- Someone smashed a window of a Guarantee Vendors truck in the 1700 block of Bethel St. yesterday morning and stole more than $900 worth of candies and cakes. A pocketbook was also taken.

AUTO THEFT: Eastern District -- A 1989 Mitsubishi was stolen yesterday afternoon from the 1400 block of E. Oliver St.

LARCENY: -- Eastern District -- Someone broke the window of a car parked in the 1600 block of E. North Ave. yesterday morning and stole three blankets and two cases of beer.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A gunman took an unknown amount of money Wednesday morning from a woman walking in the 500 block of Wilson St.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A man was robbed of about $20 Wednesday night after he was accosted at a bank machine in the 1100 block of N. Charles St. by a gunman armed with a handgun.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one armed with a gun, stole a leather jacket and a wallet containing $5 from a man walking in the 2400 block of Madison Ave. Wednesday night.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A man reported he was robbed of $100 yesterday morning after an unidentified man with blond hair knocked him to the ground in the 100 block of Light St. The victim wasn't injured.

ROBBERIES: Northwestern District -- Three men in a car that had been reported stolen committed two armed robberies and an attempted robbery, all in a four-hour period yesterday morning in the 2500 and 2600 blocks of Gatehouse Drive. They stole a woman's purse containing $40 after pointing a small handgun at her, and they also stole $200 from a man leaving his house for work. They also attempted to rob another man on the street but he didn't have any money.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man armed with a .38-caliber revolver stole $40 from a woman walking in the 3500 block of Manchester Ave. yesterday morning.

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- A man was shot in the right thigh and ankle Wednesday afternoon in the 3500 block of W. Belvedere Ave. The victim was released after treatment at Sinai Hospital.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone forced open a rear kitchen window yesterday morning of a home in the 3700 block of Reisterstown Road and stole a VCR, a portable radio and $10 in coins.

PURSE SNATCHING: Northwestern District -- Two teen-agers ran up behind a woman, knocked her to the ground and stole her purse Wednesday night in the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave. The purse contained no money, but held medication belonging to the victim.
