2 are robbed at a car wash on Dover Road

January 26, 1994

Two Glen Burnie men told county police they were robbed outside a Dover Road car wash Monday afternoon.

Ronald D. Copas, Jr., 19, of the 1700 block of Cardinal Estates Lane and Toby Joe Reed, 18, of the 6400 block of Jefferson Place told investigators they were at the Mighty Sporty Car Wash in the first block of Dover Road at 4:17 p.m. when two men walked up to them and asked them for change for a dollar.

Mr. Copas said one of the men placed some type of weapon against his back, said he had a "tool" in his pocket and that the other man was going to check his pockets.

The second robber took money, then both robbers fled.
