Former member of Globetrotters to visit school

Spencer "Spinny" Johnson, a former member of the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, will visit Forest Ridge Elementary School, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m.

Mr. Johnson will demonstrate his basketball wizardry as he stresses the importance of positive thinking, drug awareness and prevention, respect for others and oneself and the importance of education.

Tickets to Mr. Johnson's performance are only $5 per family but are expected to sell out quickly. Pick them up at the Howard County Recreation and Parks Department's main office or send a self-addressed stamped envelope with a registration form to Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks, 300 N. Ridge Road, #170, Ellicott City, Md. 21043.

* Jessup: 180 block of Keeton Way: The outside of a mobile home was damaged Thursday, police said.

8000 block of Washington Blvd.: More than $3,000 in property was stolen from a black Cadillac parked outside the Red Roof Inn last Tuesday or Wednesday. The stolen property included a gulf club set, a brown briefcase and two pairs of glasses.
