S.C. State pounds UMES, 75-61

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Emmanuel Flager scored a game-high 17 points, including 15 in the second half, and Deon Murray added 16, as South Carolina State (9-7, 5-1) defeated UMES, 75-61, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game last night.

Kenya Mobley led three players in double figures with 14 for the Hawks (7-8, 3-3).

UMES took a 51-49 lead on Travis Griffin's dunk at 5:51 of the second half. But S.C. State (9-7, 5-1) completed a 10-3 run to take a 59-54 lead on Murray's three-pointer at 3:46 to take the lead for good.

The Bulldogs out-rebounded UMES 33-26, as Miguel Burns and Karl Brown had seven each. Mobley led UMES with eight rebounds.
