Goalie All-star Mvp

New York Rangers goalie Mike Richter won the MVP award as his Eastern Conference rallied from two goals down to defeat the Western Conference, 9-8, at the NHL All-Star Game yesterday in New York.

Richter stopped all but two of the 19 shots that were fired at him in his one period of work.

Rookie Alexei Yashin of the Ottawa Senators scored the game-winner with 3:25 to go in the third period.
